The short version
This site uses one non-essential tool: Google Analytics, to understand how many people visit and which pages they find useful. It only runs if you accept it in the cookie banner, and you can withdraw that at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of any page. Beyond that, there’s no advertising, no retargeting, and no third-party embeds that follow you around the web.
One thing worth knowing, separately from cookies: if you use the chat assistant, that conversation is recorded so we keep an account of what an automated system has said. That is explained in full in our Privacy Policy. It doesn’t track you across the web, and it only exists if you choose to open the chat and type something.
Google Analytics
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies that let it recognise your browser across a visit and count you as one visitor rather than several. It tells us things like which pages get read, roughly how people found the site, and whether a visit came from mobile or desktop. It does not tell us your name, and we don’t attempt to identify you from it.
We use Google’s Consent Mode, which means Analytics is switched off by default and only starts once you actively accept. If you reject or simply close the banner without choosing, it stays off. Google is the processor for this data and may process it outside the UK; where that happens, it is under Google’s standard contractual safeguards. See Google’s own privacy policy for how Google itself handles it, and our Privacy Policy for our side of it, including how long it is kept.
What does load from elsewhere
Alongside Google Analytics, this site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, used to display the site’s text correctly. When your browser requests these font files, Google receives the IP address the request comes from, in order to serve the correct files back to you. Google does not set cookies for this purpose, and it runs regardless of your cookie choice, since it isn’t an analytics or tracking tool. You can read Google’s own explanation of this at Google Fonts’ privacy policy.
What we don’t use
To be clear about what this site still doesn’t do, beyond Analytics: no advertising or retargeting pixels (Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, or otherwise); no session recording or visitor profiling beyond what Analytics itself provides; no third-party chat widgets, embedded videos, or social media widgets that track you; no cookies used to remember preferences, log you in, or store a shopping basket, because the site doesn’t have any of those features.
Managing your choice
You’re asked to accept or reject Analytics the first time you visit. To change your mind later, click “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page, which reopens the same choice. You can also clear cookies through your browser’s own settings at any time.
Contact form and chat data
If you submit our contact form, the information you provide is used only to respond to your enquiry — this isn’t a cookie, but standard personal data handling. The same goes for anything you type into the chat assistant, including the record we keep of that conversation, which is held for 12 months. Full detail on how we handle both is in our Privacy Policy.
If this changes
If we add any further analytics, marketing tools, or other technology that sets cookies or tracks visitors, we’ll update this notice, extend the cookie banner to cover it, and update the date at the top.
